The architectural design and ethos is a fresh Afro-Indonesian palette, using neutral colours and rustic tones to blend with the natural environment of milkwood trees, beach and bush.

Ocean Reef Hotel caters for conferences up to 60 delegates in our well equipped Conference room. It is the ideal location for a coastal wedding with pananormic views of the Indian ocean which we can accommodate up to 100 guests in our Bamboo “A Food Workshop” Restaurant.

We offer a unique outdoor breakaway to get the fresh breeze of the Indian Ocean to refresh your mind for the next session, there are also numerous team building activities we offer within the facility and is the ideal corporate get away for busy business men needing time away with colleagues to brainstorm in an informal setting .

Restaurant - Bamboo Food Workshop

A Mediterranean feel inspires the decor, menu and simple, freshly prepared food is the key offering. The menu offers Mediterranean flavours, seafood and is influenced by a diverse mix of cultures and cooking techniques. The Bamboo Lounge seats 36 inside the air-conditioned restaurant and 32 outside next to the infinity pool overlooking the ocean in an unsurpassed “al fresco” setting. There are several elements to excite any ‘foodie’, such as the Espatada which originates from Brazil, or taste Tuscany with a signature pizza topped with Prosciutto, Beetroot and Creamy Gorgonzola or choose your own toppings. Seafood delights include Spanish Prawns with Mussel and Clam Paella, grilled prawns, or the local line fish catch, baked whole in our wood fired oven and wrapped with banana leaves. A kiddies menu is also available including the “favourites” spaghetti bolognaise, mini burgers, pizzas and desserts.

With the breeze of the Indian ocean, dolphin spotting and the unbeatable charm of the KZN north coast, ‘The Bamboo Lounge’ is sure to become a favourite dining spot for locals and visitors. Open breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, a festive Christmas menu and a New Year Party are planned.
